Title: ‘La prosopographie ou description des personnes insignes.’ Comments: Nigel Roche (2000, page 31): ‘A small oval recutting was used in Antoine Du Verdier’s Prosopographie, printed at Lyons by Antoine Gryphe in 1573. The engraving is laterally-reversed and there are two compositors, but is otherwise unremarkable. The legend is ‘ARS TYPO | GRAPHICA’ in two lines.’ [Note: the mark appears on page 469 of La Prosopographie ou Description des personnes insignes.]. Technique: Woodcut.
