Comments:

At least five different engravings of this illustration were used in the 21 editions that were printed between 1695 and 1800. The appendices contain a preliminary bibliography and an overview of 21 illustrations.

There is only one 1694 edition in the Dutch Short title catalogue, but at least 3 editions were printed in 1694. The first and second edition used the same illustrations. This is the third edition. The plates were cut around the frames to replace the engraved text. The top of two engraved capitals ā€˜Pā€™ can be seen directly under the frame. The text is printed in metal type (Eeghen & Kellen, 1905; page 261).

Eeghen and Kellen (1905) describe the illustrations. On page 257, this illustration has number 1423.
